Meghan Stewart is a refreshing voice in the New Orleans music scene with a powerful femininity and a heartfelt sincerity. Hailing from the small town of Montevallo, Alabama, Stewart moved to New Orleans in 2011 to immerse herself in a place saturated with jazz and talented musicians.
Meghan started classical piano lessons at age 6 and soon after was playing and singing in the local church and competitions, yet she always felt like the odd one out in her small rural town with her love of show tunes and "alternative" music. She obtained her Bachelor's of Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi but it wasn't until she moved to New Orleans that she finally found her home and musical family in jazz. Now she performs with the best musicians at various local venues and regional festivals, having shared the stage with award winning musicians Cindy Scott, Jamison Ross, and Ellis Marsalis.
She is spreading her sound with her upcoming debut album, Yesterdays, which will be released on March 6, 2020 under the Bubble Bath Records label.
